Donna Verheijden [Arnhem] is a graphic designer and videographer. Verheijden graduated from the Sandberg Institute. As a contemporary image maker, Donna sees it as her responsibility to analyse and criticise today’s apparent or staged realities. Her main research focuses on mass and social media, its seductions and underlying power structures. Donna Verheijden’s recent short films Land of Desire – Happy is the New Black and All the World’s a Stage – Ways of Seeing 2013 premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam and have been screened at various other international festivals and exhibitions. Currently, Verheijden is working on a new film: Kiss the Sky – I Trick the Eye, a visual essay which will form, together with the aforementioned films, a trilogy on our contemporary imageculture and mediascape.
