Donna Verheijden [Arnhem] is a graphic designer and videographer. Verheijden graduated from the Sandberg Institute. As a contemporary image maker, Donna sees it as her responsibility to analyse and criticise today’s apparent or staged realities and ImageScapes. Her main research focuses on mass and social media, its seductions and underlying power structures. Donna Verheijden’s short film trilogy Kiss the Sky – Eye Trick the I, Land of Desire – Happy is the New Black and All the World’s a Stage – Ways of Seeing 2013 premiered at the International Film Festival Rotterdam and have been screened at various other international festivals and exhibitions. In 2021 she has produced an audiovisual piece together with sound artist KMRU for the Rewire Festival. From December 9 2021 until 28 February 2022, her exhibition Building the Visual Mind will be on display at Het Nieuwe Instituut.
